Today a man in our church announced that he has decided to die. He has cancer that has returned and metastecized throughout his body.
He didn't tell the congregation because he wanted sympathy. He told us because the pastor was preaching about peace.
See, there is more to the story. 15 years ago this man's wife had cancer. During this period of their lives, this man prayed a prayer. He asked God to spare his wife. He asked Him to not only spare his wife's life, but also that of his family members. As his family grew he added to the list.
His Wife lived and is now healthy.
But tragedy struck years later when he was diagnosed with cancer as well. He continued to pray his prayer, but after treatment he was fine.
Finally, this past May he got the news that his cancer had returned.
So after some more chemo he had a choice to make. Continue to endure grueling treatments that may or may not work, or accept it.
He did the later. He knew his prayer had been answered. It was his time to leave this earth.
Peace... peace that surpasses all understanding... To know you are going to die and to be ok with it.
What gives this man that kind of peace? I guess I can say all the cliche' things you expect me to say...
I guess it just reminds me that there is a reason I have faith.
Not to fill holes my pysche' needs filled...
or because of the human condition...
or becuase I am lonely...
or becuase God makes my life easier to deal with.
Trust me, ask any Christ follower and they will tell you it doesn't...

I have faith because I feel that peace. Whether the times are good or bad, sad or mad... I feel that hand on my shoulder. He rejoices with us. He cries with us. He carries us when we can't do it alone.

The personal diaries of Mother Thereasa were just realesed a couple of days ago.
It shocked the world.
Mother Thereasa, the one person who has done more for this world than anyone in our life times; doubted God.
For 50 years she didn't hear from him.
Yet she continued to do what God had asked her to do.
And look how many lives she touched.
50 years of not hearing from God and yet she is considered one of the world's most amazing people of all time.
Peace that surpases all understanding...
You can't get it any where else folks.

Soooo
The ring wasn't real...
The lady at the jewlery shop was surprised herself. She said it looked incredably real but did not register as a diamond on her machine thingy...

Oh well...

God still provides good stories!!! hehe

I hate to write about this so soon but I can;t help but tell this story.

Matt and I found an engagement ring, but no diamond. And being as poor as we are we.. Matt really... could not afford a diamond. Now every girl wants a diamond, so I have no really brought it up. Matt wants me to have the best so he has felt terrible he can't give me that. It has been driving him crazy that he can't afford the diamond. So for three weeks he has been praying and praying bout how he can provide me one before the wedding.

Now for the story about how miracles happen, why I believe God is real and how prayers are answered.

Tonight Matt, Kaycee and I were working at the new house cleaning etc... I went outside to explain to Kaycee about the road and where she can and cannot go to keep her safe. We were sitting on the back patio step as I was pointing out the "line of safety" and I just happened to look down. There on the slab of cement was a ring. I thought it was one of Kaycee's quarter machine rings so I picked it up and went to hand t to her.
But on a second glance the "gem" wasn't purple like hers. So I looked closer.

Sure enough I was holding a 1 carat diamond on a cheap prong band.

Matt soon learned of our discovery and we could not believe it.

How does a 1 carat diamond just appear on my back porch??????

So, if no one claims it, I have my diamond and Matt doesn't have to pay a thing.

Yes, God provides!

Sooooo
I should prolly update!
I am currently sitting in my new house in downtown Charleviox. I found us this amazing little house for only 525 a month plus utilities. It is 1,300 square feet with two bedrooms and a screened in porch. My kitchen is HUGE! AND it is an older house so I have old dark wood features all over! Did I mention the hardwood floors???
Everyone who has entered into my great find has suggested we buy it. Matt just saw it for the first time and had only seen the downstairs and was asking for the landlady's number!
And to top it all off God has blessed us like crazy with furniture! Mr. Ramsey gave us a load of stuff from their house and Dad and Mom are giving us the couch set bc they are getting a new one!

So yes, we are slowly moving into our house. Matt will be living with my parents and I will be staying here till the wedding.
Wedding plans are going good. All I need is a DJ and a Cake!

Matt has an interview for a job today and I am going to go get a waitressing job for now. Unfortunately college degrees don't mean much in a town that only has clerical and medical positions available. So while the money is hot here in fudgee town I will be moonlighting as a waitress. Then in fall I will be going to school to get a few more classes in before grad school. Yea statistics!

Well... thats about all! If you haven't gotten an invite let me know!!!
